The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), does a great job carrying out their annual National Survey on Drug Use and Health. It’s full of useful data to track and drug and alcohol use and addiction (and sometimes treatment) trends. Unfortunately, over the years as I’ve gone to find similar reports for various years, they are hard to find all in one place. They move around web addresses, and all of a sudden you can’t find results for a particular year, or you can find detailed tables, but not the shorter summary report for a given year. The data are presented differently in these reports, and it becomes a mess to google and dig through.
To fix this problem, I decided to archive all those reports in one place – this page. So whether they move them or not, this page will stand as a place to easily find them all. The page is under construction now, and being that the reports are somehow hard to dig up, it might be a while before I get them all up.
Annual summary of findings from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health
These are the shorter reports released every year where the data most people are looking for can be found. They are in color and have many helpful graphs and tables. [Raw data files are also available, as well as longer reports with more detailed tables. I won’t put the raw data here, but I may add the “detailed tables” files at some point.]
The 2002 – 2013 reports have minor title changes, but the Table of Contents throughout these reports are extremely similar. The summary reports available for 2014 – 2017 are very different in layout, but appear to be the continuation of the series.

2003 NSDUH – I cannot find a copy of the 2003 report at this time. If you have a copy, please send it to me. FWIW, the 2004 report includes many stats from 2003.

The title changed in 2015 to “Key Substance Use and Mental Health Indicators in the United States: Results from the 20XX National Survey on Drug Use and Health.” Again, the tables of contents are similar to earlier reports:
